Search for your artists here. We'll find them for you!
Welcome to the page that lists web sites, mailing lists, and newsgroups related to bands, with information about what connection the musicians themselves have with them. I'll be listing both fan-run and official sites, and telling if the artists are involved directly or indirectly. There are also links directly to the web pages or newsgroups, and directions on subscribing to any mailing lists. This started as the final project with my masters a few years ago (and I finished that) but it's now a project in it's own right, and even its own business (it may have to take second place to my day job, but at least this is one dot com in no danger of going bankrupt and laying off its staff;).)
Due to time constraints, there is no way I can make this totally comprehensive by myself. (And I'm sticking mostly to bands I like to save time:).) But if you know about something I've missed, or if you need any information or links changed, feel free to e-mail me at . Unfortunately I know I've been pretty lousy about answering e-mails and making requested updates, and I'm really sorry about that. In the past 2 years I moved from NY to Los Angeles, transferred up to San Francisco a little over a year later, and then moved back down to Los Angeles to work for another company when the San Francisco office of my company closed 10 months after I moved up there.
A note on E-Mail addresses: I'm trying to only list addresses that I find listed in public areas. If you're an artist and DON'T want your e-mail listed here, e-mail me and I'll take it off. If you do want yours listed and it's not here, let me know and I'll be happy to add it!
If you're a fan thinking of doing a web page for an artist, I have a few tips. First of all, please look around to make sure there aren't pages already around. Some artists already have tons of web sites devoted to them, most of which don't add anything new. Try to make sure you have something new to add that isn't already available. And try to watch out for copyright issues. You don't want to piss off an artist you're a fan of. Try to get permission if you're not sure if posting something is legal.
Rockers Online is now a GEMM Affiliate! It's a site where you can search for CDs, tapes, and even records and other related merchandise from tons of online music merchants (they list books and videos too). It's the best place I've found to find import, used, and hard to find CDs online. If there's something you've been looking for there's a good chance you'll find it there. (I've spent WAY too much money there myself, which is why I can say that;).) You can compare prices before you buy (which is always nice) and order through GEMM (usually the seller picks up the surcharge so you don't have to). I've had very good luck ordering through them, and they do rate the merchants. I really think GEMM is a great place for Rockers Online to be affiliated with, since with so many smaller stores the chances of finding what you're looking for is better than at the big sites, especially when you consider the variety of bands listed here:). So check them out, and if you want to help support Rockers Online go to http://rockonline.gemm.com. For your convenience, I've added links from every artist's page to find their music on GEMM!
Now Rockers Online is also a Amazon.com affiliate! Links are in the process of being added to each artist's page so you have even more options to find their music.
Well, that's all for now. There are now 220 bands and counting! To find them, just select a letter from the dropdown menu to the right! Have fun searching!
